Restaurant Review; Afternoon Tea At Jam

Jam is a relatively new restaurant located on Sir Thomas Street offering casual dining with some home cooked classics as well as an impressive Afternoon Tea offering.

The surroundings have a real touch of elegance and the friendly staff were soon over to take our order. Me and my dining companion both love fruit tea so we selected the Mixed Berry and the Strawberry & Kiwi teas. There’s an extensive drinks menu to suit any mood, including cocktails, milkshakes and smoothies. The teas were served in colourful teapots to match the decor and it’s these small touches which really tie the whole place together. Everything has been well thought out at Jam.

We ordered the Afternoon Tea for two. The sandwich selection was cheese and tomato, cucumber and cream cheese, smoked salmon, and ham. The sandwiches were full of flavour and the rolls were soft and fresh.  Another impressive note about Jam is that they offer a great Gluten free menu. Gluten free bread is available for anyone looking for an afternoon tea which caters to this increasingly notable dietary requirement.

The dessert selection included home made tarts, chocolate brownies, lemon cake and home made warm scones served with jam and cream. There was certainly room for nothing more after devouring all these sweet treats.

Jam’s afternoon tea could find itself ahead of the competition with its beautiful surroundings and gluten free options. It’s also well set up to cater to large groups celebrating baby showers and hen parties so expect this to be the place on everybody’s lips soon!

Others dining at the restaurant had chosen from the brunch menu which also looked great and we will be back to try more that Jam has to offer soon.
