O'Connor's Bar & Grill At The Sefton Park Hotel; Review

O’Connor’s Bar & Grill is located at the Sefton Park Hotel, it’s Irish theme representing it’s owner and characterised in the restaurant’s décor. Having never been here before we were intrigued and upon entering we saw a cosy bar on one side and the more formal dining room on the other.

We were greeted at the restaurant by a friendly member of staff who led us to our table, facing out over the boating lake at the park. Looking through the menu we were spoilt for choice with steaks, burgers, fish dishes, and comfort food classics like Bangers & Mash to more exotic choices like the Thai curry.

O'Connor's Nachos
Nachos

I ordered a gin & tonic to kick things off and was impressed when I was offered Liverpool Gin, a personal favourite and nice to see one local business supporting another. To start, we shared the nachos, which was a generous size and was packed with melted cheese & plenty of sour cream and guacamole.

O'Connor's Burger
O’Connor’s Flame Grilled Chicken Fillet Burger

For my main I had the flame grilled chicken fillet burger, it came with two chicken fillets on and the seasoning on the chicken gave it great flavour and was really juicy. My dining partner opted for the gammon steak which he was very complementary of also. Unfortunately, we could not manage dessert, however I know we are both keen to visit again so all is not lost.

The restaurant was lovely even on the drab rainy evening when we visited but it would be even better on a nice sunny day before or after a stroll around Sefton Park. O’Connor’s may be overlooked as a dining choice in the area, with passers by seeing the hotel and not the restaurant but with the friendly staff and packed menu it’s a great choice for anyone looking for a nice atmosphere and more laid back dining experience from Lark Lane hustle and bustle.
