Liverpool Calling Announce First Wave of Acts For 2016 Festival

Liverpool Calling returns for its fourth consecutive year, this time at a temporary new home in the Camp and Furnace, and the Blade Factory on Saturday 9th July.

This year they have announced two headliners for the one-day event, as Coasts and Spector top the bill. Bristol-based Coasts come to Liverpool for the first time since the release of their debut album. Spector are also set to make a triumphant return to the Liverpool scene, now with two albums of bouncing indie-tunes under their belt.

The Family Rain will be headlining the Blade Factory stage, the Bath alternative rockers will be debuting some new material alongside the riffed filled set of well-loved tracks. Hotly tipped Australian outfit Tired Lion will grace the stage at many of the UK’s top-tier festivals, and they’ve added Liverpool Calling to their run of UK Shows.

Liverpool Calling wouldn’t be the proud Merseyside event that it is without the finest local artists on show. Joining the bill are psychedelic folk rockers The Wicked Whispers, the increasingly popular alt-rock starlets The Jackobins and indie-darlings Mono LP’s. The hotly tipped Peaness make their Liverpool Calling debut having received regular airplay from BBC Introducing and the frenetic live show of psych-rockers Elevant will be lighting the fuse for the day.

We are also please to announce that we at Liverpool Noise will be curating the Blade Factory stage and will have more announcements shortly. Plus Liverpool Acoustic are creating a chill-out acoustic stage in the lounge area – all still to be announced.
