Glow In The Dark Wheelspark Now Open In Everton

As part of Liverpool Biennial artist Koo Jeong was commissioned to design the UK’s first glow in the dark wheelspark known as Evertro. This new permanent structure is now open for skaters and BMX bikers to use in Everton Park.

Since February 2014, Koo Jeong and a team of designers from Wheelscape Skateparks have been working with young people in Everton, North Liverpool and Liverpool city skaters to devise a new wheels park.  In addition to Evertro, the Everton Park Action Sports HUB also incorporates a training area and BMX track.

This commission is part of a long-term commitment by Liverpool Biennial to work in Everton Park. The wheels park and Everton Park Action Sports HUB will be managed and maintained by The Land Trust, in conjunction with their community partners, Friends of Everton Park. This is the flagship project of a citywide scheme initiated by Mayor Joe Anderson and funded by Liverpool City Council to design and build five wheeled sports parks in Liverpool.
