Freeze Pres. ‘Scenery’ – Liverpool’s Brand New Party feat. Levon Vincent, Redshape, DJ TLR & More – 2nd Oct

A brand new party is launching in Liverpool on Friday 2nd October. Taking place at The Garage in the renascent Baltic Triangle, Scenery is brought to the city by Freeze, who have been celebrating their huge tenth anniversary year throughout the summer.

Rob Casson from Freeze explains: “We have had a fantastic summer in the city and hit new heights with our 10th birthday, with the run of shows at the Bombed Out Church as well as working with Cream on The Asylum shows. Now we are looking ahead into the autumn and would like to introduce Scenery, our brand new night at The Garage. The night is about going back to basics really – an intimate venue with great sound, some brilliant acts and bringing taste-making names to the city. We aren’t looking at huge headliners, just people we respect, who both create and play music which at the fore of the electronic dance music scenes.”

Scenery’s first headliner is bringing Levon Vincent to Liverpool for a rare set. The esteemed producer and DJ is one of house music’s most revered figures, with one of the finest Fabric mixes under his belt, 63, and a slew of on-point remixes. His mercurial eponymous album garnered rave reviews for its honesty, craft and emotional verve and he continues to be one of the scene’s leading figures, a bastion of the underground.

There’s plenty of support for the debut show. Redshape remains an enigmatic figure, the red mask-wearing DJ and producer getting support from everyone from Ame to Josh Wink via Laurent Garnier. Revered Crème Organisation’s DJ TLR is a prime exponent from the Netherlands of counter-culture house and techno, with an ardent stance against the mainstream. They are joined by Asok, a Liverpool-based figure who has released on Mistress, Crème Organisation, M>O>S and Lobster Theremin. Scenery’s resident Brake completes the lineup for the debut show.

The second instalment on Friday 20th November sees DVS1, Paranoid London, Dixon Avenue, Basement Jams, Asok and Mark Forshaw all performing, with more info to come soon.
