Celebrate Mother’s Day In Liverpool’s Maritime Museum

Hosted by National Museums Liverpool has launched its exclusive Mother’s Day offering set to take place in the iconic Merseyside Maritime Museum on 31 March.

Located in the Maritime Dining Room on the Museum’s fourth floor, the ticketed dining experience will include a glass of fizz on arrival, followed by a Sunday feast comprising of a specially-curated two-course sharing menu, ideal for the whole family.

As part of the occasion, the event will showcase a new look for the dining space which also boasts spectacular waterfront views.

Head of Events at National Museums Liverpool Katie Roberts said: “We are delighted to open up the doors of our Maritime Dining Room for this family celebration, giving mums the opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal courtesy of our in-house chefs. What’s more, we’ve been busy giving the historic space a makeover ahead of the day, ready to welcome families from across the region to spend quality time together in a truly unique setting.”

Hosted by National Museums Liverpool will be serving a sharing feast of freshly-carved meats with a choice of trimmings such as garlic and thyme roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, root vegetable mash, cauliflower cheese, roasted Chantenay carrots and tenderstem broccoli, with vegetarian options of wild mushroom and Stilton pithivier and vegetarian haggis cabbage parcels. To conclude, diners can tuck into a selection of desserts such as glazed lemon tart and raspberries, fresh mango and passionfruit Pavlova and dark chocolate pavé with salted caramel popcorn.

Katie added: “To make the day all the more special, every mother with a ticket will be invited back to the Maritime Dining Room to enjoy a complimentary afternoon tea with us at one of our future events, to include a selection of sandwiches and cakes all lovingly handmade on site.

“For those looking for a one-of-a-kind Mother’s Day gift, there’s another opportunity to celebrate with Hosted by National Museums Liverpool on Friday, 26 April. The team is set to host an exclusive evening at the Walker Art Gallery, whereby guests can enjoy after-hours access to the Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing and Charles Rennie Mackintosh: Making the Glasgow Style exhibitions, along with a sparkling drinks reception and canapés.”

Mother’s Day at the Maritime Dining Room will take place between 12pm and 4pm on Sunday, 31 March and is priced at £26.95 per adult and £12.95 per child.

Bookings include a complimentary afternoon tea voucher for every mum, to be redeemed before 31 March, 2020.
